Ciliwung River

Water is the source of life for all living things. So, I often discuss about water. Especially in Bogor is the Ciliwung River. The river was tipped in Mount Pangrango, West Java. The river flows through the Peak, Ciawi, then turned north through Bogor, Depok, Jakarta and empties into the Bay of Jakarta. Many of the problems that exist in the Ciliwung river, the main problem is the garbage. In fact, most rivers in Indonesia are used as landfill. River is used to the back of the house. So the it is not guarded and look dirty. Trash make the river flow is blocked, so that when the rains come flooding will occur mainly in the upstream area. When the dry season the river will be very dry, there are only scattered rubbish and cause odor. River conditions as it affects the health of residents, especially those living near the river.

Until now I’m with the Komunitas Peduli Ciliwung (KPC) as care Ciliwung River Comunity always do assessment solve the problem. The activity is the discussion relaxed and filling in important events such as competitions in Bogor garbage scavengers Ciliwung river in commemorating the birthday of the city of Bogor. Every Saturday morning we do a garbage scavengers to clean up, take the trash out of the river and separates organic and inorganic. The ultimate goal is for the community to see firsthand how we cite good things, so they will realize themselves not to throw randomly garbage into the river.

I'm with Komunitas Pecinta Ciliwung (KPC) as care Ciliwung River Comunity campaign to clean up garbage in the river Ciliwung. We share knowledge about the potential of the river. Such as animals and plants there and the benefits for us all. We perform together with volunteers who are mostly youths.
